At NLCS (Singapore), the First School marks the beginning of each child’s educational journey, nurturing curiosity, creativity and confidence in a warm, inclusive environment. Covering Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten 1 and 2, and Grade 1, this foundational stage is designed to inspire a love of learning while developing resilience, independence and social confidence.
In the early years, children learn through exploration, discovery and play. Hands-on activities, creative experiences and carefully structured academic challenges encourage students to ask questions, express ideas and build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy and inquiry. As students progress into Kindergarten 2 and Grade 1, they move gradually towards more focused subject-based learning. At NLCS (Singapore), exceptional results are not pursued as an end in themselves, but emerge from joyful scholarship, academic ambition, individual care and a deep love of subject. Guided by teachers who know their disciplines deeply and understand their students as individuals, students build the confidence and independence to succeed. The Class of 2026 achieved an average IB score of 38.4, a 100% pass rate, with four students achieving 45 points and 40% scoring 40 points or more. Senior School : Academic Challenge and Personal Growth
From the Middle School (Grades 6 to 8) into the Upper School (Grades 9 to 10), students at NLCS (Singapore) enter an important stage of academic and personal development. In the Middle School, students build on the foundations of the Lower School through rigorous, subject-specific learning guided by specialist teachers. Sixth Form and the IB Diploma Programme
In Grades 11 and 12, students at NLCS (Singapore) enter the final stage of their school journey through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. These are formative years in which students are encouraged to think with greater independence, engage deeply with their chosen subjects and make thoughtful decisions about life beyond school.
The IB Diploma provides both breadth and depth.
